I bought my Glass table and leather chairs October 2012. We bought the extended 5 year warranty.

I was told it kicked in after the maufactures warranty was expired which was one year. Well go figure it doesn't cover the "type of damage" that has occurred to my table. I was told only the manufacture warranty covers that damage and since its been over a year it isn't covered. REALLY!!!

Then what is the extended warranty all about. I figured I would have to pay some retroactive type of charge but NOTHING. Honestly I will have to cool down before I even go into the store to get this rectified. I have purchased furniture from them several times and although I know it's not exactly top quality I like the looks and the prices of things and I don't have to worry about kids its just me and my husband so the probability for damage is pretty low.

Here's what happened, I came home and set the mail on my table turned around to walk to my bedroom and I hear a crash. The chrome leg separated from the glass table top and the mail is all that was on there. Thank goodness my husband was in the kitchen and was able to grab the table before it fell to the ground. (Honestly I should have let that happen maybe the warranty would have covered that "type of damage).

I will no longer be buying from The Room Place and as for my kids I had talked into buying their new sectional from them and after this they are going elsewhere. Not only did they not cover the damages the process was a nightmare. I started this process on June 11, and June the 19th was the first I heard from them. Whats also very irritating is that when I started this whole process they didn't even have me in their system no one ever called in and registered my warranty (over 1 year half later) so I had to wait another couple of days for it to be enetered into the system.

I will be posting on my facebook page and anyone that will listen if I don't get some satisfaction. If they aren't going to cover my furniture then I want my money back for the extended warranty.
